Mount Pleasant is a charming town in East Texas near Dallas with a historic downtown and some pretty incredible places to eat! Whether you’re in the mood for some finger-licking barbeque, cheesy pizza, or a classic country breakfast, we have some great recommendations to share that are just a few minutes from our RV resort. Take a look at some of the best local restaurants in Mt. Pleasant TX that you should try:

1. Country Cafe Diner

Country Cafe Diner is not your average diner. They serve up some of the best food in Mt. Pleasant and is one of the locals' top spots for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. From traditional breakfast platters to corned beef hash, waffles, and T-bone steak and eggs, your hearty appetite will be satisfied, and be sure to stop in for lunch to grab one of their delicious burgers, paninis, BLTs, or Reubens! For dinner, we recommend their sizzling fajitas!

2. Rancho Seco Steakhouse

Fresh cut steaks, a local chef's twist on traditional Texas cuisine,  and Southern hospitality at its finest: that’s what you get at Rancho Seco Steakhouse! Choose from sirloin, NY strip, ribeye, or filet cooked exactly to your specifications, and enjoy side dishes like garlic mashed potatoes, creamy corn esquites, and smoky chorizo brussel sprouts. The best part? The jalapeno cheddar cornbread muffins with an agave compound butter! Other popular items on the menu include their burgers, carne asada fries, and country-fried steak. Stop by on the weekends for live music!

3. Nardello’s

Located in the historic square of downtown Mt. Pleasant, Nardello’s Pizza Tavern occupies the former Rogers Sisters Hardware Store. This 1930s building has been lovingly restored and is an ode to its past and the rich history of the town. In addition to their full menu, you’ll also find daily lunch specials, weekly chef dinner specials, and a weekend brunch menu. The bar also features craft beer, a wide variety of wines, house cocktails, and seasonal drinks. A couple of our favorite menu items include their wood-fired pizza, Italian hero sandwich, and the salmon fettuccine.

4. Laura’s Cheesecake & Cafe

As the name suggests, this restaurant makes delicious gourmet cheesecakes that you can order by the slice or whole, made-to-order cheesecakes in addition to other sweets like cookies, cupcakes, and breads.
